Monument Valley is characterized by majestic sandstone monoliths, some up to 1000 feet high. It is truly a magical place to photograph not only because of the landscape but also the often encountered sweet light. Come join Jeff for a grand tour of this region. On Friday afternoon, we will join Navajo guides and travel via SUVs to Hunt's Mesa where we will spend the night. This will serve as our Friday evening and Saturday morning basecamp for our photography. The Navajo guides will provide all camping gear such as tents, sleeping bags, etc. They will also make/break camp and cook all meals for you. All you will need to do is focus on photography and have an enjoyable time!
In addition to the magical Hunt's Mesa camping excursion, for the remaining portion of the tour you can expect to photograph many of the other locations, such as the Mittens, the Totem Pole, and the Tear Drop Arch. As a bonus, Jeff will lead a nighttime session where he will share his creative star-field, star-trail and painting with light techniques. Expect to make some stunning nighttime photographs.
Many of the locations are roadside or require a short walk to deliver us to extraordinary locations. As is true for all of Jeff's tours, you can not only expect to have photographic opportunities be maximized but you will also get significant time with learning Jeff's post-processing techniques so bring your laptop.
